AUNTY'S BOOBS

Well, one boob that I feel the BBC is guilty of anyway.

I was looking forward to the Horizon prog on the SETI Project. All set, glass of vino and some nibbles, feet up on the poufe (or whatever it is called), eyes up and watching.

Seven minutes later I switched off, suffering from eyestrain. I have enough problems with my eyes anyway, the video techniques used in the programme made it unwatchable for me.

Blurred, double vision, anchromatic images (probably wrong word again, red and blue fringes on objects) and other techniques just made it intolerable for me visually.

The Beeb used to produce some great science programmes until they decided that more art and theatre was necessary, it all went downhill from then so far as I am concerned. This has taken me one step further getting rid of my TV, just keeping the gear needed to view videos and DVDs.

My TV monitor is also a TV, but I will stuff its little aerial hole with Araldite if necessary, I don't use that to receive pictures anyway, likewise the DVD recorder. One needs to put all receivers out of action in some way to prevent the inspector being nasty, should he care to call.

Ho, hum, now - where's my library card...
